The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) was established in 2004 with the aim of promoting the widespread adoption of sustainable palm oil farming and the use of palm oil products through credible global standards and stakeholder engagement.

RSPO is a non-profit, international membership organization that brings together stakeholders from different sectors of the palm oil industry. Its reach includes palm oil producers, palm oil processors and traders, consumer goods manufacturers, key stakeholders, retailers, banks and investors, environmental or nature conservation NGOs, and social and developmental NGOs.

The RSPO’s definition of sustainable palm oil production limits the clearing of existing forests or areas for planting seedlings in High Conservation Value (HCV) forests and High Carbon Stock (HCS) areas, and prohibits cutting and burning practices. Both are vital for carbon sequestration. In return, the well-being of indigenous communities must be protected by the operating company or organization, and fair working conditions must be provided to employees.

As a member of RSPO, we take care to source palm oil from accredited producers who work in accordance with RSPO certified sustainable palm oil production policies.
